The Rame Peninsula is considered one of Cornwall’s hidden gems.

Whitsand Bay
3 miles of sand reached by steep paths and steps that wind down to the beaches below.  At low tide the long stretches of glistening sand provides great walking or jogging opportunities, whilst the constant swell keeps surfers happy riding some huge waves. Dogs are welcome all year.

The beach is made of sand and shingle and has many rock pools to explore around the edges. Boats can be hired and there is a slipway from the beach. A good place for families with an ice-cream van on location throughout the summer. No dogs are allowed on this beach during the summer months.

Consisting mainly of sand and shingle this Southeast facing beach backs right onto the village and is home to the iconic seafront Kingsand clocktower. Built to commemorate the coronation of King George V, the clocktower was almost destroyed by the winter storms of 2014.

The beach at Kingsand overlooks Plymouth Sound and has fantastic views of the ships coming and going. Like neighbouring Cawsand Beach, it is a sheltered beach that reveals some good rock pools at low tide. This means it’s a popular beach with families with the additional bonus of there being plenty of pubs around the beach too! Dogs are welcome all year.
